Fraction on a Number Line Sorter Challenge is an interactive, drag-and-drop fraction game that helps students build strong number line skills from 0 to 1. In each round, students see a number line divided into equal parts (changing denominators across 8 different lines). They drag fraction tiles from a “fraction bank” and drop them onto the correct tick marks, matching the fraction’s value to its position on the line.
The activity uses touch-friendly pointer dragging, so it works smoothly on Chromebooks, tablets, and phones. Students receive instant feedback when they check their placements—correctly completed lines earn a success message and move them forward, while mistakes prompt them to review and try again. A built-in timer tracks how long it takes to complete all number lines, creating a fun challenge mode that encourages accuracy and speed.
To keep students thinking, the fraction bank includes extra “distractor” fractions from other denominators that share the same or different values, helping learners practice equivalence and avoid common misconceptions. When the challenge is complete, a clear end screen shows the student’s final time and offers a quick “Play Again” restart for repeated practice.
