Welcome to our Rounding and Estimation Jeopardy Game! This interactive Jeopardy-style math challenge helps students practice rounding whole numbers to the nearest 10 or 100 and making estimations in a fun, competitive format aligned with 3rd-grade math standard 3.NBT.A.1.

The game is designed to be teacher-led and projected for the whole class while student teams collaborate to solve each problem.

🏫 Classroom Setup & Game Procedures

👥 Grouping & Classroom Style

• Arrange students into small teams (3–5 students per group).

• Each team should have:

  • A mini whiteboard

  • A dry-erase marker

  • An eraser

This classroom setup encourages participation while keeping students focused and accountable.

🧩 How to Play

1. Select how many teams will play the game.  I use groups of 3 or 4 and you can have a max of 8 games.

2. The teacher selects a question from the Jeopardy board and displays it.

3. All teams work quietly together to solve the problem.

4. After a set amount of time (teacher-chosen, such as 30–60 seconds), students stop working.

5. When prompted, teams hold up their whiteboards to show their final answer.

6. The teacher reveals the correct answer and briefly reviews the reasoning.

7. Points are awarded to all teams that answered correctly.

8. Points are deducted from teams that answered incorrectly.

9. Play continues until the board is complete or time runs out.
