This is a worksheet I use with my students when they are reading in the scholastic news.  It is designed to reinforce some of the reading standards that they need to know.

Students will rearrange words to make complete sentences as they learn about the life cycle of a tulip.

Students will have fun researching 5 unique mammals that are funny-looking and just plain strange. Students will discover some interesting facts about each one, learn how to copy and paste a picture into a Google doc document, and some of the mammals' locations.

The mammals are the Javan Rhino, the Cuban Solenodon, the Pygmy Possum, the China Baiji, and the Echidna.

Using colored pencils or crayons, students will read some Christmas puns and then identify nouns, verbs, pronouns, Adverbs, and Adjectives with different colors.

This worksheet is a scavenger hunt that students can use to learn and relearn the knowledge of expository text features.  In the worksheet, students will find titles of diagrams, titles of charts, captions, keywords, bullet points, illustrations, table of contents, glossary, sidebars, titles, subtitles, and maps.

I use the Scholastic News with this worksheet, but it could work with any magazine type.

In this 3rd Grade worksheet, students will break apart words that contain prefixes.  They will write the root word, the prefix itself, and then define the word.

After teaching what suffixes are, use this suffix bingo game to review. There are 31 pages. One is a call sheet and the other 30 are unique bingo cards. Call off the definition and students will mark off the word with a prefix.
